The next book Paul Hawken is working on will be called ‘Regeneration’ and then it will really get interesting. Because climate change is not the only problem. There is the broken nitrogen cycle, the loss of biodiversity and social inequality as well. So drawing CO2 out of the air is not the only solution. We need to think systemically and give back to nature what we take from her if we will stand a chance.
In my view, one of the measures in the book Drawdown is most important to start with right away; regenerating degraded soils. It might give us up to 20 years of extra time on climate change.
