Thanks Patricia. Permaculture emerged in the 1970s with a book by Bill Mollison and David Holmgren. It's all about systemic design of landscapes (perennial plants and all 5 kingdoms of nature including microbes, fungi and algae) to serve humans. Inspiration came from ancestor practices, biology and deep ecology. Ancestor cultures lived in line with nature and understood systemic design and complexity. Healthy soil, water cycles, microbes, farming practices, buildings, food, energy, etc. The whole food forestry movement is an extension. And many practices followed. All with perennial plants and animals as part of healthy food systems. Syntropic farming, 7 layers of collaborating plants, climate zones, and design design design in line with our planet... Be inspired. In 1995 we started to restore an area of China with the principles (loss plateau) and right now we are regreening the Sinai desert with sediments of a lake. Calculations say that it will calm down weather in large parts of Asia, Europe and Africa. In America you have films like kiss the ground and some big scale farmers who use the principles...
