Technological lock-ins in any field are such a problem. Holding us back from evolutionary progress.

Do you have any ideas how to make things fluid and prevent new technologies from becoming the new technological lock-ins? How can we uproot the old quicker and give opportunity to the new, more ethical allt the time, so everyone keeps on their toes innovating? Existing power (the first one successful) has such a huge advantage!
