Since when is a company not responsible for everything they create? Why do we allow them to throw their externalities over the wall and say: society, just solve it.
Companies should take all consequences into account and start designing their processes more carefully. Designing waste so that it can be used as a resource for other products. Designing non-toxic production processes. Designing regeneration instead of pollution.
Systemic design. It’s not so hard.
If a company makes clothes our of synthetic fibres, it is responsible for the washing by consumers too and thus the plastic soup created.
Luckily, there are more companies that understand this principle of care and responsibility. They create opportunities with these challenges. Sadly, most companies still have no clue about regenerative business models.
A pity.
