My father had an Indonesian grandmother and my partner is mixed race. And although I appear to be white and am educated, I realize so well my privileges.

In my younger years I felt shame and guilt for the colonialism that enriched my country and gave me my privileges.

Now I contribute my talents to the causes that matter to me. And I share. It’s the best I can do without destroying my own sanity…
