Isn't there a third way apart from big government, Brad? A government that's giving us clear boundaries, yes, but is just not accepting the role of cleaning up the mess?
Can't we imagine a small government who is accepting this fierce role without being wasteful with its energy and people? I must say that in my country, the Netherlands, I really have trouble with the government that gives us too many (old-school) rules so creation of new ways becomes impossible.
So I say: companies, take resposibility for ALL you create. And governments, stop cleaning up the mess. Make a few clear boundaries instead. Easy to uphold with few civil servants. Use the rest of the money for basic incomes. And trust the creation power of people once they see the light.
