I’m inclined to hope there’s another way. Non-violent protest does not mean behave well and abide by the social contract. It’s still a protest. And it’s recognized as such.

Look at Mahatma Gandhi. He brought anti-colonial nationalism to the common Indians, Gandhi led them in challenging the British-imposed salt tax with the 400 km (250 mi) Dandi Salt March in 1930 (source: Wikipedia). And this was definitely not considered as ‘following the rules’.

I really hope it all works out. I really hope the plundering will not give Trump his desired excuse to ‘dominate the streets’ and shoot. And I wish all people empowerment and compassion…
