I once read somewhere that a spider web is completely the wrong metaphore for the web of life. It is a murder weapon! It fed my imagination into writing a story about spider woman.

But of course you are completely right. In terms of economies, I see a future for local, very active economies (much like ecosystems) connected by the threads. Businesses will have their own unique nature, based on the local ecosystem (local, abundantly available materials) and local culture. We will make our economises thrive with diversity, just like nature does with her biodiversity.

And maybe, just maybe, corona-virus will be a blessing in disguise then. We stopped mass tourism, there is a case for self-sufficiency again, and a case for focussing on basic needs. I'll keep writing to make people understand that this is a real possibility and so much is already happening around the world in this direction...
