Great writing, Maria Antoanela Ionita! The fashion industry and the consumers enabling this industry to go on like before, need some shaking at the roots.

Three more aspects to think about might be:

  • Make clothes from local, biodegradable, materials that can be abundantly available when we embrace regenerative farming. Such as bamboo, nettles, industrial hemp or seaweed.
  • Change the production process of fiber extraction. Nowadays, it’s mostly done chemically. Mechanical production is possible as well and should be reconsidered.
  • Much pollution is created by washing synthetic clothes. It’s one of the main sources of microplastics in the ocean. So we should switch to only biodegradable that can decompose in the soil, freshwater, and saltwater.

Happy clothes swapping with your friends. It’s so much fun!
