Concepts remove the magic. Yes. But concepts are also useful to make sense of the world.
And concepts are all we have as humans to not drown in the chaos of our ultimately systemic world.
Ever heard of the philosopher Deleuze? I think you’ll like him. He tells us that concepts are like rhizomes. They grow in a certain direction, take root, or break off and form new rhizomes in another place.
Sprouting in unexpected places like bamboo. The human world is like that. And if we manage it without hierarchy or saying that some concept is better than another, we’ll make it.
