Climate change is becoming real and tangible. At the moment Australia is burning and Jakarta is flooding. People and animals are suffering. It breaks my heart. But I really hope we will see a rising of solutions. Please, politicians, farmers, entrepreneurs, everybody, transform grief and anger into action! Blaming whoever is understandable, but positive action can take us so much further.

For politicians, it is time to stand up and be real leaders! If you don’t want to stop the coal mining or other lucrative endeavors (yet), please start on the other side of the spectrum. Restore water cycles. Regenerate the soil. Protect biodiverse forests and plant biodiverse forests. We need to restore ecosystems if we ever want to stand a chance. If we ever want to turn the tides. It is time to give back to nature, we have taken so much already!

Even if people are looking at this from a purely economic viewpoint, please remember: you can just look at exports and money flowing into your economy. You can also have a critical look at imports and money flowing out. If you prevent the latter and become more self-sustaining with natural, regenerated resources, your economy will start to flourish for sure.

Permaculture started in Australia, Indonesia can adopt the island economy. There is already so much knowledge available on how to restore ecosystems, unleash abundance and be resilient in the face of bush fires and floods. Just do it! Regeneration Rises…
